The mind is an infinite space. So is the physical world around us. We often move from one to the other in search of escape. But perhaps stillness is not found by moving between infinities. Perhaps it is found by remaining with a single point in any infinity until everything else fades away.

When the winds meet the fields, the landscape begins to breathe. In those moments, the grass gathers into forms that resemble a wild and free living creature before dissolving back into the earth. Where the Winds Meet is inspired by this fleeting moment and by the idea of “Qi” ~ the vital energy believed to flow through all living things. Though unseen, it is felt.

This artwork intends to capture a quiet moment of guidance and surrender, where the path ahead is not sharply defined but gently illuminated. The soft glow in the distance draws the eye forward, acting as a subtle beacon, suggesting hope, intuition, or an inner calling. Or perhaps, simply, fear.

The course, sometimes linear and sometimes curving, sometimes dark and sometimes light, but always goes on. In this perpetual motion, whether swift or gentle, challenging or effortless, growth quietly unfolds. The space around reflects the mind and soul, becoming lighter and softer as the journey goes on.

Quiet, introspective atmosphere under the stillness of night. Layers of cool blues and muted greens with a sense of chill. Delicate, fragile stems rise through the mist-like washes, evoking vegetation enduring the darkness. Subtle touches of warm colour emerge like distant sparks of life, offering a gentle contrast to the surrounding coldness.

The rock does not declare its strength. It is the delicate foliage around it that makes its weight, stillness, and solidity felt. In the same way, perhaps we understand things not by what they are alone, but by what they exist beside.

Things appear big or small, strong or delicate, only in relation to what surrounds them. Stillness becomes visible through movement, and strength through delicacy.

Sometimes, distance is the only thing common between two dissimilar beings, and yet, sharing the longing to be part of something, unwittingly ties them together.

This work began as a life study, observing the quiet character of a tree through direct observation. Rather than recording every detail, I was drawn to its movement, rhythm, and changing forms.

A grounded form holds the centre, while loose, flowing strokes bring movement and warmth. Autumn Burn captures a moment of intensity, steady at its core, yet alive with energy and growth.

Connection explores the invisible threads that bind existence between self and nature. It is interdependence and a reflection on how we grow, reach, and evolve through unseen bonds inviting the viewer to consider the often unseen forces that hold everything together.

The world can be a hurtful place. It can leave you in bruises and blemishes. We are told to heal and to live. But living IS healing. Healing is not pretending like the scars do not exist, healing is turning those marks into something lumuinous. What looks like the complex, impermeable cosmos from afar, when looked at, from up close, is the evidence of a life being lived, hurt, repaired and continually becoming whole.

“Wild” is inspired by the untamed energy found in nature, much like the untamed parts within ourselves. The flowing forms and upward movement create a sense of freedom, growth, and motion. Through layered textures and organic lines, the work reflects the beauty of things that exist beyond structure and expectation. It is a reminder that not everything meaningful needs to be controlled ~ some things become most beautiful when allowed to evolve freely.
